The Story Behind the Shot
The Springbokkie is a shot that is highly popular in South Africa. The South African national animal is the Sprinbok (Springbokkie means “little Springbok” in Afrikaans), and the colours of the drink are the national rugby teams colours.
Some say there is a ritual that should be performed before taking the shot. There are several versions of the ritual, but most revolve around showing how a Springbok looks in the wild (which means only South Africans really know how to do it).
